Learning to type through play

Children learn the keyboard faster when practice feels like a game. Each game here trains a real typing skill: finding keys without looking, using the right finger and typing whole words with a steady rhythm.

  • Key hunt is for the very first steps. A letter appears, and your child finds the key, with a hint about which finger to use.
  • Letter rain trains quick reactions. Letters fall from the sky, and you pop them by pressing the keys.
  • Word rocket moves on to whole words. Every word you type sends the rocket closer to the moon.

Tips for parents and teachers

  • Start with the home row. Every game lets you choose which keys to practise.
  • Short sessions of 10 to 15 minutes work best. Stop while it is still fun.
  • Encourage the right fingers rather than speed. Speed comes later.
  • When your child is ready for more, try our free touch typing course.
